Rebecca Hope Vasquez, L.Ac. , Herbal Medicine
Rebecca Hope Vasquez became interested in Chinese Medicine after she experienced great relief from acupuncture and herbs on an injured wrist, results that were not achieved with traditional methods such as physical therapy or even cortisone injections. After learning just the basics of Eastern physiology, she became enamored of the medicine.
After almost four years of training, she graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) with a Master's Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine and was certified as a licensed acupuncturist.
Rebecca specializes in natural methods of pain management in the treatment of chronic pain and injuries after completing an internship at the RIMAC Center treating orthopedic injuries on UCSD sports teams. She uses a variety of techniques including acupuncture, moxabustion, electrical stimulation, and fire cupping to treat painful conditions. She also employs both customized internal herbs and specially prepared external liniments to regulate the body's natural circulation to reduce pain, reduce healing time, and to increase range of motion and flexibility.
Rebecca is interested in regulation of the emotions and addiction medicine. She offers specialized treatments for personal transformation such as smoking cessation, detoxification, and weight loss using, in addition to the above methods, ear acupuncture and dietary recommendations. Her experience includes internships at both St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, New York and The Fortune Society in Queens where she employed both traditional and modern methods of acupuncture for recovery from alcoholism and drug addition. Rebecca strongly believes that acupuncture and herbal remedies are highly effective for any chronic or acute syndrome of the body or mind.

MASSAGE THERAPY:
Chance Billmeyer - H.H.P., B.F.A., A.S. , Instructor, Founder
"If your looking for relaxation, an intensely powerful massage, or someone to address your physical condition and help treat a past or current injury or chronic problem, then ZEN Sanctuary is the place for you. I have been working with clients for the past eight years to release tension and overcome physical limitations that have kept them from experiencing their life to the fullest. Sessions may include, Guasha, cupping, moxibustion, Reiki, myofascial release, deep tissue compressions, hydrotherapy, acupressure, and/or PNF stretching.
I see a wide range of clients, both men and women, often referred to me by Western and Naturopathic doctors, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Physical Therapists and CPT's. I work with each of these healthcare professionals and can provide a Superbill for your insurance.
Recently, I returned from an extended stay in China where I studied Tuina (Chinese Medical Massage), Wu Style Tai Chi, and Hatha Yoga. The Yunnan province in China is well known for it's herbs as is considered to be one of the world's most exceptional areas for growing truly organic, quality herbs for medicinal purposes. In 2010, I cofounded the Southern Cloud Retreat Center in Lijiang China, a retreat center for Acupuncture, Herbs, Tai Chi, Taoist Philsophy, Yoga, Meditation, Massage, and Food as Medicine.
Before traveling to China, I also studied traditional swedish massage and hydrotherapy at Baden Baden (considered to be the Spa Capitol of the world) in Germany. A 800 year old roman bath served as the setting for learning about the traditional techniques of effleurage, petrissage, kneading, and fanning - all massage techniques used to help improve circulation, relieve tension, and increase mobility."
Chance currently lectures at the International Professinal School of Bodywork, he teaches Hatha I & II each week at private homes, and Wu Style TaiChi at Redwood Circle in Balboa Park every Saturday at 11 a.m. Services offered: ZEN Blend, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Tuina, Thai, NeuroMuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral Therapy, TaiChi, QiGong, Nutritional Counseling and Meditation.

Jeanne Marie Auger, HHP, Instructor
Jeanne Marie Auger is a Holistic Health Practitioner. She has almost 1800 hours of training from different schools in Canada, New York and the West Coast and has been practicing different types of bodywork and energy work modalities for the past 25 years. She is also a yoga practitioner and instructor and extensively uses the awareness, knowledge and experience she has gained through this practice in her approach to bodywork.
She has experience working in a variety of settings such as massage-therapy centers, high-end spas, in partnership with a chiropractor and in personal healing practice. Today, this allows her to provide a wide variety of treatments to her clients and address several of their needs.
Her sense of wellness goes far beyond the body. While being very attuned to its needs and limitations, she intuitively perceives how body and mind interact together to either create tensions and blockages hindering the Spirit or to empower it to emerge and manifest Itself fully. The core of her work focuses primarily on releasing these tensions and blockages and allows the body and the mind to re-align with the Spirit. The outcome is a deeper sense of congruency and oneness and the resulting inner peace, fulfillment and Self-realization.
Depending on the client's desired outcome, she uses several different modalities. At the muscular level, this includes Structural Integration - also known as Rolfing, NeuroMuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue and Swedish massage. At the energetic level, this includes Acupressure, Jin Shin Acutouch, Reiki Tummo, Biodynamic Boyasen and “Body-Mind-Spirit Alignment”, a method that most directly focuses at uprooting energy patterns in the body and clear their resulting stagnant energies. She also practices Reflexology, a most highly recommended addition to any treatment as it very effectively and rather quickly helps mechanically release tensions all throughout the body - not only externally but also internally, including the internal organs and glands - through the reflex zones of the feet.
Jeanne Marie will be very pleased to answer any of your questions and work with you to help you assist your goals. You are most welcome to request her at the Zen Sanctuary... See you there!
